There is a request for midi files in which I reply-ed to with an elaborate-additional suggestion for midi files in "Ask Vitalij Kuprij" forum. Basically, I was asking if examples of smooth connecting melodic shapes could be given in midi. Shapes that require leaps with recommendations of how to approach and develop them in ones playing.
Maybe, if you are interested and have the time, a book for keyboard players (that do not have the classical repertoire and training) dealing with connecting melodic shapes from classical works as a guide to incorporating into improvisation and composition could created in the future. There is nothing out there like that idea (there is for guitar though). Working with the Czerny studies just doesn't cut it. In all of the jazz books you see it is mostly patterns and not with shapes and incorporating them (mostly runs and that gets monotonous).
Regards, O
